About Her Return to Traditional

1.What made you decide to return to Traditional Home Health Care?

I like the flexibility of home health. I get to make my own schedule and there is lots of support for the road staff. Traditional is full of great people which leads to a great work environment.


2. How does it feel to be back at Traditional, and what were you most excited about upon your return?

It feels like a breath of fresh air to be back. I was very excited to go back to day shift and to be back in the patient’s homes in a 1-on-1 environment.

 
3. What aspects of the culture or environment at Traditional did you miss the most?
I missed being in a positive work environment where I felt like a person and not just an employee number. Everyone knows you by name. It’s just a healthy atmosphere.
Experience Comparison

4. How does Traditional Home Health Care differ from other places you’ve worked?

The training is much better than anywhere I have worked. You aren’t rushed in to being on your own. You are able to feel much more confident and independent. Most importantly, there is no micromanaging.
 

5. What did you learn during your time away, and how has it influenced your perspective on working at Traditional?

The grass isn’t always greener! That’s for sure. You are treated like a real person.
Personal Growth and Impact

6. How has Traditional supported your professional growth and development?

Flexibility. I was able to be in school while still working. Traditional was very accommodating and supportive of my education. There is continuous training which I find very helpful.
 

7. Can you share a memorable experience from your time at Traditional that highlights the company’s values?

In June of ’23 my dad was hospitalized in Philly after a major medical event. Traditional was very understanding and they worked with me to take the time off I needed to travel back and forth to me with my father during a very hard time for my family. I don’t think many other companies would do that. Their support meant everything during that time, and I am still grateful for it to this day.
Recommendations for Others

8. What would you say to someone considering working at Traditional Home Health Care?

Definitely try it for sure. The flexibility, ability to set your own patient daily schedule, and the 1-on-1 patient care are great. The people who work there are just wonderful. It’s a very fulfilling job.
 

9. What qualities about Traditional would you highlight to encourage others to join the team?

Traditional has been very understanding, supportive, considerate and flexible

10. How has your return to Traditional impacted your career and personal fulfillment?

I feel more comfortable and confident in my skills now that I’m back. I feel like I am truly helping people. The continuity of care means everything. You get to see the patients through from admission to discharge and everything in between.
 
"I am Angela, I have been with Traditional for a little less than 18 months. I am a pediatric diabetic nurse, my responsibilities are to make sure that my patient stays within a target blood sugar range. I achieve this by testing his blood sugar, administering insulin, and providing carbohydrates when the blood sugar is below the accepted range. I have worked for several other companies and this is not a job its a family. We are always here for eachother professionally but also on a personal level. This has allowed me to have dress down days to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, I am glad to be a part of the Traditional family and look forward to the years to come."

Although it is serving more patients, thereby increasing its census, expanding its services as well as enlarging i the geographical areas, it has never lost its small town atmosphere, of Dunmore where it originated. Management is welcoming and supportive to staff members, and the staff retention rated is high. The staff works together as a team, and value each other. The health care services to patients are excellent. Everyone goes the extra mile to ensue great care and patient satisfaction."

This place has been the best career move for me and my family. Home health has very demanding charting, but who doesn't in health care anymore. I love the time you get with patients and see the difference you can make in their lives. The health benefits are fair, but besides hospitals , I do not see a difference in health care costs. It is a very personable and family oriented atmosphere. You can go to anyone in management and discuss issues, without having to go through corporate channels. They are always willing to help any employee out and find options to make it work for you. The flexibility is the best when you have families. You are not locked into a hospital shift, and easy to make appointments or get to family events in between your day. Salary is just at standards in the area. They will pay you if do anything extra.
