Ways to Pay for Home Care
Non-medical in-home care includes assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) like remembering to take medications, preparing meals, transferring from a chair, toilet or bed, bathing, getting dressed, light housekeeping or transportation to and from doctor’s appointments.
Unfortunately, these services are not typically covered by Medicare or health care plans.
Despite this fact, there are waiver and VA programs available for those who qualify based on income and need level.
Finally, there are a variety of Private Pay options for those who have access to more assets.
Learn more about some of these options below.
Community HealthChoices
If you are 21 or older and have both Medicare and Medicaid, or qualify to receive long-term supports through Medicaid because you need help with everyday personal tasks, you should qualify for coverage for home care through the Community HealthChoices program.
VA Benefits
The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Caregiver Support Program (CSP) offers clinical services to caregivers of eligible and covered Veterans enrolled in the VA health care system. The services can help Veterans remain living in their own home and can serve Veterans of any age.
Private Pay
There are a variety of options to pay for home care such as long term insurance and private pay if you do not qualify for subsidized programs.
Reach out to Traditional Home Care to discuss these options and what we can do to help you through the process.
